Bayview couple win $20,000 a month for 20 years in Set for Life

A Darwin couple are bursting with joy after winning division one in a major lottery, saying “I can barely breathe right now. I can’t stop crying. This is insane!”

A BAYVIEW couple are $4.8m richer after winning division one in Set for Life.

The NT had the only division one winning entry for Set for Life draw 2269 drawn last Friday.

They will receive a total $4.8m paid in installments of $20,000 a month for the next 20 years.

The pair were busy at work when they got the life-changing call.

“No! You’re telling me we’ve won Set for Life?!” the winning woman cried.

“Are you kidding me! No! Are you serious? No, come on! This has to be a joke.

“If you are lying right now or this is a joke, I don’t know what I will do. Please tell me this is true.

“Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god! No, it can’t be true! Holy sh**! This changes everything for us!

“You don’t know what this means to us. This is everything. This will change our whole world.

“I can barely breathe right now. I can’t stop crying. This is insane!”

The winning numbers were 15, 10, 31, 26, 33, 25, and 14, while the supplementary numbers were 16 and 22.

The couple said they had big plans for the money.

“We’ve had such a tough year, and things have not been easy. So many bad things have happened,” they said.

“We have our own business and things have been really tough with that. This means we can take time off from work and do the things we have always wanted to do.

“We will definitely look at working less. Maybe we will go part-time, maybe we won’t work at all.

“We just want to take it easy and relax. That’s what this means for us. We have worked so hard for years and years, and now we don’t have to anymore.

“We will start that today! We are going to take the rest of the day off work and go out and do lots of celebrating.

“We can help our family too, which is just amazing. And we can help set our kids up for the future.”
