Artistic genius Tim Minchin is coming to perform on Top End soil,Darwin Festival 2022

Territorians can get excited about the entertainment royalty who is coming to perform in mid-August.

ENTERTAINMENT genius Tim Minchin will be gracing the Top End stage mid-August for the highly anticipated Darwin Festival 2022.

You may know him from various past ventures like the viral speech he gave to a crowd of university graduates, his role in Californication, director of Matilda the Musical, or as a comedian.

Now, Territorians have the opportunity to see Mr Minchin perform a set list of material from all corners of his eclectic repertoire with his full band at The Amphitheatre on Saturday August 13.

Mr Minchin said the show would be slightly censored so all ages could attend the night.

“I’m so excited about coming, the venue is amazing and the festival is amazing,” Mr Minchin said.

“I’m bringing the band that I did my last national tour with, we’ll be doing some crossover between my festival set and my touring show.”

The multifaceted performer said anyone coming to the show could expect a mixed bag of entertainment with sincere ballads, comedy and other performances.

“It’s just like a really fun, musical various gig, because I have these different backgrounds,” Mr Minchin said.

“I am by trade a comedian as well, so in between songs, I’m not mumbling about how I wrote this song when I was stoned on a boat in Spain, I’ve got shit to say.”
