Thousands of Territorians will rise before dawn to attend one of several Anzac Day memorials next week.
Tuesday, April 25 marks the 108th commemoration of Anzac Day.
In 1915, 16,000 Australian and New Zealand troops landed at what is now known as Anzac Cove as part of the campaign to capture the Gallipoli Peninsula.
The campaigned went on for eight months for the allied forces were evacuated at the end of the year.
There were 26,000 casualties among the 60,000 Australians who fought during the campaign.
Anzac Day became a day of remembrance for those troops, and has since been extended to include the Australian and New Zealand people who continue to serve in military operations.
