A SECOND car has washed off Cahills Crossing in Kakadu National Park this week, prompting frustration from emergency services.
Parks Australia Rangers told Gunbalunya Police that the Great Wall had been stranded since early this morning.
A passing driver rescued the four people who were trapped.
A police spokesman said that despite appearances, the vehicle did not have 4WD.
“Police again urge drivers to not risk their own lives or the lives of their passengers by attempting to cross flooded roadways,” the spokesman said.
Police also slammed rescues as a waste of resources, as crews went out to look for people who were no longer in danger.
The gates on the road have been closed, and police have warned that penalties apply for those disobeying the road closure.
