TWO women who were trapped beneath a LandCruiser at the Darwin City post office, in what appears to be a freak accident, have miraculously survived.
A 75-year-old woman and an 82-year-old women were reversed into along the corner of Litchfield St and Edmunds St about 2.45pm on Thursday.
An eyewitness said the two women were reportedly hit by the car after leaving a salon in the area.
Another witness said the scene was “horrific” and that the driver of the car was shocked.
“I don’t know what happened, I don’t know how they’re alive,” she said.
Paramedics, police and fire fighters flocked to the scene.
A St John Ambulance spokeswoman said the women were stable.

“Both appear to be in a stable condition and about to be transported to hospital,” she said.
“They’ve received some abrasions and burning.
“We’re unable to confirm any other details regarding their injuries at this stage.”
