Families were out in force as the Territory’s youngest fashionistas showed off their best dresses for the Chief Minister’s Cup.
The second major race day of the Darwin Cup Carnival is the ever-exciting family day with everything from bouncy castles to petting zoos to entertain kids as the racing kicked on.
Anggie Wibowo is a well known face around the Darwin Turf Club’s fashions on the field, but on family day it was a chance to show off her daughter Qiana Wibowo in her designs.
“It’s a great day out, there’s so many activities for the kids to take part in,” Ms Wibowo said.
“The fashions on the field is always good and I get to show off the dress I’ve designed for her.”
Carissa Read and her family have been part of racing in the Territory for 25 years, and said the event was the best time of year to get around people.
“It’s the best time of the year,” she said.
“I look forward to racing on a regular basis, but Darwin comes to life for the Carnival and we put on a fabulous show.
