The home where a well-known zoologist who sadistically tortured, sexually exploited and killed pet dogs on the outskirts of Darwin has been listed for sale.
Adam Britton, 53, lived at the 100 McMinns Dr, McMinns Lagoon property for almost two decades, purchasing the home for $250,000 in 2004.
Britton was respected internationally as a crocodile expert, reportedly hosting David Attenborough during filming of the 2008 documentary Life in Cold Blood.
He also kept a pet saltie Smaug in residence, often welcoming film crews seeking close up shots of the 5m croc.
In September last year Britton admitted to also running a “torture room” at the property – a shipping container in which he filmed himself sadistically raping and killing dogs he sourced by promising trusting owners a “forever home”.
In total he pleaded guilty to 60 bestiality, animal cruelty, and possessing child exploitation material charges. Most details of his crimes are too distressing to be published.
Last week the three-bedroom McMinns Dr property was listed for sale on realestate.com.au for $790,000.

Britton is due to return to court next month for submissions on sentencing.
