WITH at least six seats still in doubt, a few candidates will be watching on anxiously today as about 4500 more absentee votes get counted.
The NT Electoral Commission is expected to finish counting most of the absentee votes in closely contested seats today after doing about 3500 yesterday.

The counts will kick off at 9am in Darwin and 8.30am in Alice Springs.
This will be followed by the recheck of Arafura, Drysdale, Fannie Bay, Goyder, Karama, Mulka, Nelson, Nightcliff, Port Darwin, Sanderson, Spillett and Wanguri at the Darwin scrutiny centre in Berrimah.
The divisions of Gwoja and Braitling and the continuation of Araluen and Namatjira will be done at the Alice Springs scrutiny centre.

An NTEC spokesman said about 900 declaration votes have already been sent to the AEC with about 2000 more expected to be submitted later this week. You are issued a declaration vote if your name and/or address details cannot be found on the electoral roll, or if your name has already been marked as having voted. The deadline for receipt of postal votes is at noon on September 4.
