THE memorable movie Priscilla Queen of the Desert was filmed in 1993, with the final iconic scenes shot at stunning Kings Canyon in Watarrka National Park.

In a big move for human rights in the NT, this year saw the Northern Territory Anti-Discrimination Commission established to promote equal opportunity for all Territorians.

The Northern Territory’s one and only Cannonball Run was held in 1994.
