Footy fans can rest assured there is still time to book for this weekend’s AFL finals with one airline increasing capacity to cope with the demand.
Virgin put on an extra 850 seats across three additional flights between Melbourne and Adelaide bringing it to a total of 6500 seats up for grabs on the route between Thursday and Saturday.
Those wanting to go to the Adelaide Crows vs Hawthorn Hawks clash at Adelaide Oval on Friday from Melbourne can grab the 7.40am flight for $309 with Virgin, returning on Saturday at either 3.15pm or 8.50pm for $354.
If you can hang around until Sunday, you can get the first flight of the day at 6.05am for $203.
Jetstar still has seats for $499 Melbourne to Adelaide in time for kick off and you can return on Saturday for $298 via Sydney, direct on Sunday for $227 or even stick around until Monday and get yourself a bargain at $71.
The cheapest you can fly Melbourne to Adelaide on Friday with Qantas is $628 – but with a 6.20pm arrival you would be cutting it pretty fine against a 7.10pm kick off.
The next day you can return with Qantas via Sydney for $406 or on Sunday for $216 and Monday for $184.
Interstate fans wanting to see the Brisbane Lions vs Gold Coast Suns at the Gabba on Saturday also have plenty of options.
Virgin has seats from Sydney on Saturday for $153 returning the following day for $202.
Jetstar is a great choice for Sydneysiders want to watch the Queensland derby with Saturday flights as low as $165 and going back the next day for $195.
Qantas prices Sydney to Brisbane start at $206 on Saturday returning for the same cost the following day.
