A man has been arrested and hit with alleged dangerous driving and racing charges after golfer Doey Choi and her boyfriend died in a horrific car crash last month.

The police have arrested a man following a horrific car crash last month that took the life of golfer Doey Choi and her boyfriend William Brown.
Ms Choi, 24, was sitting behind Mr Brown, 26, on a motorbike when it collided with a car at the intersection of the Hume Highway and Worth Street in Greenacre, about 20km west of the CBD, on May 28 just before 8pm.
The couple died at the scene and the driver of the car, a 25-year-old man, was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
“Officers from the Crash Investigation Unit examined the crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident,” the police said on Sunday.
“About 4.30pm yesterday, a 31-year-old man was arrested at Bankstown Police Station.
“He was charged with dangerous driving occasioning death, drive manner dangerous (two counts), dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, and organise promote or take part in race between vehicles.
“He was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Bail Court on Sunday.”
The police believe the motorcycle was part of a convoy at the time of the crash.
The WPGA Tour Australasia paid tribute to Ms Choi in a statement from May 30, calling her a “tremendous golfer.”
“A tremendous golfer, who proudly represented Australia, Doey was an exceptionally valued member of the Australian golf community, which will remember her bright and happy personality, as well as incredible talent for our game,” the organisation said.
Ms Choi’s family also delivered a statement through the WPGA, saying they were “heartbroken beyond belief”.
“Doey brought light and joy into our lives with her radiant smile and bubbly personality.
“Her presence was a blessing to all who knew her.
“We are deeply grateful for the support we have received from friends and the wider golfing community during this incredibly difficult time.
“Doey will be forever in our hearts and sorely missed.”
