Harry Styles fans reveal chaos ahead of Perth show

Aussie Harry Styles fans have revealed the chaos of trying to get into the venue ahead of his show in Perth, with some lining up for 12 hours.

Australian Harry Styles fans have complained about the chaos leading up to the superstar’s Perth show on Monday night.

The Watermelon Sugar singer kicked off the Australian leg of his Love on Tour world tour at HBF Park last night, playing to a packed arena of around 30,000 screaming fans.

However, the lead up to the show wasn’t so enjoyable, with hundreds of fans complaining about the lines to get into the standing areas of the venue.

Last week ticket holders were warned that camping in line the night before the show was “strictly prohibited” and anyone found queuing prior to 8am on the day of the event would be asked to move.

“No priority entry will be given to anyone camping outside the venue prior to event day, and fan made early line systems will not be honoured,” HBF Park said on social media.

But it appears many fans disregarded this warning, with multiple fan-made lines emerging in different areas around the venue before sunrise.

There also appeared to be confusion about where ticket holders were actually meant to be lining up, with one TikTok user claiming the security had “no idea” what they were doing and sent people to the wrong area.

The user uploaded a video of dozens of fans running to a different area of the venue after apparently being told they were lining up at the wrong entry point.

“Pov you’re trying to line up at hsolt in Perth but security has no idea what they’re doing,” the user captioned the video.

“I think everybody got moved to the wrong place,” the person behind the camera can be heard saying. “This way, this way. Where did all the security people go? I am so confused.”

Eventually the group found a security guard who tells them the general entry section of the venue is “on the other side”.

This prompts an exasperated “are you joking?” from members of the crowd, before they all take off running once more.

In a second video the attendee said it felt like they had been “running for hours” by the time she finally entered the venue.

“They ended up handing out numbered wristbands and said we could come back later,” the user explained.

“None of the security had any idea what was happening and everyone was confused.”

Multiple other videos showed crowds of people waiting in line to get into the venue, with some even claiming they had been queuing for 12 hours.

The city was forecast to reach a top of 36C yesterday, which was exceeded by 3pm.

People were pictured with umbrellas and even tents in a bid to protect themselves from the blistering heat.

Footage of the lining up chaos sent other fans into a panic, with many concerned as they wouldn’t be able to get to the venue until later in the day.

Others who followed the rules and only started lining up after 8am claimed there were “no consequences” for people who started queuing early.

“It’s just poorly run across the board. they should have honestly blocked off the nearby streets until 8.50am they’re rewarding people for doing the wrong thing otherwise,” another social media user claimed.

Others said the scenes made them “so stressed” for the other shows and when they should be lining up.

Harry Styles will be taking his Love On Tour shows to Melbourne and the Gold Coast, with the final shows to be played in Sydney.
