Federal election live: Peter Dutton’s campaign in trouble after latest poll

Adam Bandt just declared the “wheels are falling off” Peter Dutton’s campaign and now fresh polling data has delivered a new blow to the Liberal Party.

In a truly unexpected turn of events, “Tiger King” Joe Exotic has come out in support of Anthony Albanese.

The controversial Netflix star, who is currently in prison for a multitude of offences, also revealed why he’d done so, shutting down rumours he was “paid” to by Labor.

“No Anthony Albanese did not pay me,” he wrote, in a follow-up to his initial Instagram post.

“I made a public offer to work for their zoo for free for six months or any other wildlife conservation if he would call President Trump and ask for me to be released based on the American governments witnesses have admitted to perjury. Will make the same offer to President Trump or the President of Mexico.”

Meanwhile, Tasmanian senator Jacqui Lambie says neither Labor nor the Coalition will change laws to ban political parties from blasting voters with unsolicited election material - like text messages - stating they would do the same.

And the fallout continues after Opposition Leader Peter Dutton told news.com.au in an exclusive interview he believes that more young voters are siding with Labor or the Greens because they are being forced to rent for longer.

“People are renters for longer, and generally that means that they’re more inclined to support the Labor Party,” he said.

“Then, as their views mature politically, they come across to the Liberal Party.”
