Labor has won a second term in power, meaning Anthony Albanese will remain as Prime Minister. And Opposition Leader Peter Dutton has lost his own seat to Labor’s Ali France, giving her success in Dickson at her third attempt.

Counting of the final results will begin again on Sunday.

It’s one of the biggest drubbings for the Coalition for years and the defeats will set off a leadership campaign for the job of Opposition Leader.

The Greens are also having a bad night. They have actually increased their vote but seemingly in the wrong places with the party set to lose two MPs. Even leader Adam Bandt could be in trouble in his Melbourne set.

Media personality has taken to social media to film herself crying at the Greens’ poor performance. But she last revelled in Mr Dutton’s loss.
