An emotional Albanese Albanese has vowed to work hard to make the lives of all Australians better over the next three years after a staggering win that has given Labor about 84 seats.
Mr Albanese emerged, pumping his fist in the air and visibly emotional alongside fiancee Jodie and son Nathan onstage to a sea of ALP supporters.
To chants of “Albo, Albo, Albo”, the prime minister began his speech by declaring: “Serving as your Prime Minister is the greatest honour of my life”.
Peter Dutton conceded defeat after he lost his seat, taking full responsibility for the Coalition’s crushing loss.
