‘Done nothing’: Dan Andrews unleashes on ‘miserable’ Scott Morrison government

Dan Andrews has lambasted Scott Morrison, saying the Prime Minister has “ripped off” Victoria in a sensational spray.

Victorian Premier Dan Andrews has sensationally lashed Scott Morrison as being “so desperate” and having “done precisely nothing” during his tenure.

In his first appearance alongside Labor leader Anthony Albanese during the campaign to talk up a $2.2bn federal pledge for a rail link project, Mr Andrews slammed the “miserable Morrison government” that had “ripped off” Victoria.

Mr Andrews said the government treated investment into Victoria “like it’s foreign aid”.

“The contrast could not be clearer,” Mr Andrews said as he stood beside Mr Albanese.

“I‘ve had a conversation with the Prime Minister about this suburban rail loop and zero dollars. Zero dollars. The contrast could not be clearer.

“Anthony Albanese is about building things. He’s about creating jobs. He’s about making sure that our cities and regions, our nation, actually works.

“(Scott Morrison) has done precisely nothing.

“(He has) got an excuse for everything and a plan for nothing. This is the sort of stuff that comes out of prime ministers who have just run out of time.”

Mr Andrews also hit back at claims by the federal Liberal Party that he is “a drag” on federal Labor.

“The federal Liberal Party … say lots of things and they do very little,” Mr Andrews said.

“If only their talk mattered. If only the pure politics of these people mattered.”

Mr Andrews eventually handed Mr Albanese’s press conference back over to him before the Opposition Leader said he was committed to working with all premiers – even the Liberal ones – constructively.

“That’s the difference between me and Mr Morrison. Nation-building projects that make a difference on infrastructure compared with the Coalition that just gets out the colour-coded maps, that say this is not a national priority for the national government,” he said.
