Emirates kick starts another round of cabin crew recruitment drive in Australia

Emirates is on the hunt for more Aussies to join its cabin crew. See the perks, benefits, and find out how to apply.

What are the secrets you don’t know about flight attendants

Fancy a tax-free salary, discounted international travel and ongoing professional development while travelling the world?

Global airline, Emirates, is offering just that as part of its latest recruitment drive as it seeks candidates to join its multinational cabin crew team.

It’s a dream role for those looking to explore the world, with the airliner offering flying pay, eligibility for profit share, hotel stay, layover expenses, furnished accommodation, transportation to and from work, medical and dental insurance coverage, and even a laundry service.

Employees also receive an Emirates Platinum card, that offers a range of privileges and discounts across thousands of retail outlets, clubs, clinics and hospitality outlets.

The recruitment drive comes as Emirates continues to see strong passenger bookings from Australia with significant demand across all its cabins, including its recently launched premium economy service.

Candidates must be fluent in written and spoken English and have one year of hospitality or customer service experience. Once selected, they’ll be offered world-class training in the Emirates’ Cabin Crew Training Centre in Dubai.

In Australia, Emirates operates its flagship A380 aircraft with double daily services to both Sydney and Melbourne, and a daily service to Brisbane. From November, Emirates will also operate its A380 on its daily service to Perth, replacing the Boeing 777-400ER.

In August, Emirates introduced its newly retrofitted A380 featuring its latest premium economy cabin to Sydney.

Both Sydney services will offer premium economy from December 15, while Melbourne will offer it from February 2023.

The Dubai-based airline will hold cabin crew recruitment open days from October 8 across Australia.

Candidates are asked to pre-register here for a smoother experience. Those who haven’t applied online may do so as walk-ins on open days, held on the following dates:

•Sydney: Sir Stamford at Circular Quay, 8 October

•Perth: Four Points by Sheraton Perth, 10 October

•Melbourne: DoubleTree by Hilton Melbourne, 12 October

The recruitment drive comes after Sydney Airport held its second Jobs Fair in September to fill its vacancies that have seen millions of travellers hit with delays and flight issues.

The Jobs Fair provides job seekers the chance to meet some of the 800 businesses that operate at Sydney Airport, many who are urgently recruiting.

Thousands of jobs are still up for grabs, in a variety of areas, including, airlines, security, baggage handlers, government agencies, customs and border control, retailers and hotels.

Meanwhile, September also saw Virgin Airlines schedule so-called ghost flights, where pilots are now flying planes with staff on board and no passengers to ensure crew and aircraft were on hand in the event of illness or engineering issues at different destinations.

Virgin Australia confirmed the practice had been adopted during the September school holidays, after hundreds of flights were cancelled during the June/July holidays due to sickness among crew.
