Bargain hunters can catch a fishy feast for the family this Easter at two of Darwin’s top seafood sellers.
For less than $100, Mr Barra general manager Amon Hesketh said a group of up to six people could dine on high-quality seafood.
“We’re mostly focused on fresh, local fish fillets,” she said.
“We’re getting everything in on Wednesday, a large portion of our fish will be extremely fresh for Thursday and Friday.”
Ms Hesketh said Mr Barra would be open on Thursday and Friday to sell local, live mudcrab, leader prawns – on special for $35 – as well as high quality, imported frozen seafood.
She said the frozen seafood was going for $15-$25 per kilogram.
Darwin Fish Market business owner Peter Singleton said he was feeling “really positive” ahead of the Easter weekend.
Mr Singleton said the store had a good supply of jewfish, salmon, barramundi, snapper, and prawns.
“We’ve got some great oysters from Coffin Bay and Smokey Bay down in South Australia, so they should go really well,” he said.
Mr Singleton said families looking to eat for less than $100 could enjoy the long weekend with the Fish Market’s wide variety of fish.
“I love prawns, personally, so I’ll always have them on the menu,” he said.
