Motorcyclist hit by ute, seriously injured after crash on M1 at Coomera

Police are investigating after a motorcyclist was hit by a ute on the M1 at Coomera on Thursday night, leaving him with serious leg injuries.

A motorcyclist has been seriously injured after he was hit by a ute on the northern Gold Coast.

Police said a white Toyota utility towing a trailer was driving along the M1 at Coomera about 6.25pm on Thursday.

The ute then lost control and collided with a Harley Davidson motorbike.

Police were called to the scene and officers found the motorcyclist with significant leg injuries.

They provided first aid before paramedics arrived.

The 27-year-old man from Kingston was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The driver of the ute, a 27-year-old man from Surfers Paradise, was not injured and was assisting police.

Police are continuing to investigate the collision and anyone with information or dashcam footage is urged to come forward.
