More than 400 activities on offer in NT these school holidays

School holidays are set to start. There are more than 400 activities being offered across the Territory from Darwin to the East Arnhem region.

School holidays kick off this coming Monday and Territory families will be looking for fun activities to keep the kids busy.

The NT government has invested in events and activities to be held across the Territory, with more than 400 on offer over the next two weeks.

In Alice Springs children and teens can take part in hip-hop and dance workshops, skate and BMX workshops, ninja courses, a family band night and more.

The Alice Springs Library will be hosting activities including reptile handling and a 3D printing workshop.

The Barkly region will host more than 90 events ranging from arts and craft to sport and wellbeing.

Barkly will host a 3-on-3 basketball tournament this Monday and a barbecue breakfast for mental health week the following week on Tuesday, October 3.

In Katherine kids can participate in organised skateboarding, bike maintenance, e-sports, arts and craft days, pool parties, glow-in-the-dark parties and roller-skating.

The East Arnhem region, Nhulunbuy and communities in the Gove Peninsula will host a further 39 activities, from boxing workshops to skateboarding and photography lessons.

Darwin locals and those living in Palmerston will not be bored these holidays with more than 150 activities set to take place, including street art with Jimmy Bamble and a robotic science event.

A new event called Geek Up is being launched on Sunday, September 24.

It is set to be an afternoon of “geeky” activities for young people aged 15-25 and will be held at the Casuarina Library.
