One of Darwin’s most popular bars, Monsoons has officially reopened after a $1.5m revamp and upgrade – with changes made to everything from the venue’s interior, to its menu.
The revamp included new muralled walls, neon-lit ceilings, bookable VIP booths, entertainment stages, dancing platforms and an upgraded bar.
To celebrate the reopening, the operators kicked off a four-night long party – which started on Wednesday night.
The events will include DJs, happy hours, a mechanical bull and other surprise competitions.
Venue manager Frederica Ransom said the launch week events would go off with a bang.
“Our launch week has been planned to showcase the very best of our weekly line-ups and specials and will be an insight into what people can expect in the future,” she said.
“We’ve got some great local and internationally-renowned names headlining – it’s going to be epic.”
To keep the party going over the next few nights, Monnies are holding Ladies Night, with special guest, Will Parfitt, a founder of Magic Men.
Baller Friday will see headliner Paris Lawrence in action with support acts Six Ashes and Sommer.
The relaunch will wrap up on Saturday with a headline performance from world-renowned DJ Havana Brown.
A new-look menu full of shareable snacks, burgers, and the locals favourite – soft shell tacos also features as part of the relaunched Monnies.
There is also a new schedule of daily food and drink specials, with $10 smash burgers offered on Tuesdays and $3 Tacos on Saturdays.
