Military exercises underway: Warning to be vigilant on our roads

Top End road users are being alerted to increased military activity with several key training exercises underway from now until the middle of June.
Defence says Australian Army personnel, vehicles and equipment from 1st Brigade will operate in and around the Mount Bundey Training Area and Dundee Beach in support of important training exercises Predators Walk 2025 and Predators Run 2025 from 19 May – 13 June 2025.
Defence said the community can expect:
•Increased presence of Australian Army personnel in the region.
•Increased movement of military vehicles on civilian roads in vicinity of Mount Bundey •Training Area and Dundee Beach.
•Military watercraft operating off the coast and/or at Dundee Beach.
•Loud noises including blank ammunition fire and explosions between 7am and 10pm.
•Periodic increased aircraft movement and associated noise.
Defence the training activity was routine and the community should not be alarmed.
Access to the northern area of Dundee Beach, north of the Dundee Beach Holiday Park, will be limited from May 30 – June 13. Military personnel will be in location when access to the area is not permitted.
