Meta: ‘Error’ leads to thousands of Aussie Humanitix events wiped off Facebook

An Australian-owned ticketing company has been wiped from Facebook following an error on Meta platforms.
Hundreds of organisers across the country have reported their events had been pulled off Facebook on Thursday morning.
Organisers were told that the posts went against Meta’s community cybersecurity standards.
It is understood all these events were linked to the Humanitix ticketing platform.
Humanitix has reported an “issue” which they say has impacted their links on Meta platforms, including Facebook, Instagram and Messenger.
“Faceook has an error in their system and blocked posts with links to Humanitix ticketing pages,” it told customers.
“The Facebook team are aware of the issue and are now working to deploy a fix on their system as a top priority.”
A Meta spokesman also confirmed the social media company was aware of the glitch.
“We are aware of a technical issue that is impacting Humanitix events on our platforms, our teams are looking to urgently resolve this with matter,” he said.
It is understood that dozens of Darwin Pride events were deleted in the lead up to the annual LGBTQI+ festival in June, with concerns the outage would impact International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia events across the country on Friday.
It is understood a number of queer events have been impacted the error.
Events as varied as the Tasmanian Championship Wrestling to weekly No Lights No Lycra pages have been impacted, with outages reported in South Australia, Queensland, Western Australia, New South Wales and Tasmania.
