BMX rider Leonardo Prandi, 9, is the latest junior sports star nominee.
“I love bikes and wanted to learn how to jump and do tricks,” said Leonardo, who trains at least five times a week.
“I also do Crossfit sessions normally once a week but if I could I would be at the track every day,” he said.
With dreams of an Olympic gold medal, the sky is the limit for young Leonardo, who already has an impressive awards record.
He scored a place at the NT titles last October and placed 16th overall at the Victorian Track Attack series in January.
But ever the good sportsman, Leonardo stays humble.
“I think all BMX riders should be nominated, as it’s a great sport and everyone deserves to win,” he said.

NT News editor Matt Williams encouraged people to get behind their local sport stars and nominate them.
“We want to celebrate the people who do so much in this space to make sport what it is in the NT.”
