A lucky local punter has walked away more than $1.2 million richer after snatching up a win on a 10-spot ticket purchased at the Noonamah Tavern.

The 10 Spot went off about 5.24pm Monday, with the winner of game 977 taking home $1,213,927.

He won the massive prize on a $24 ticket.

Noonamah Tavern bar manager Samantha Clavell said there was a “massive reaction” at the pub when people saw the winnings on the screen.

She later said everyone was searching for who the winner could have been.

“The vibe definitely went up for the whole night,” she said.

“People were coming in for dinner asking if I knew who the winner was, but we had no idea.”

Ms Clavell said she was “super stoked” for the winner.

“Congratulations, it’s a massive win,” she said.

“I hope it’s one of the locals, I’m super stoked.”

The last time the Noonamah Tavern saw a win that big was a couple of years ago after someone won the 9 Spot, Ms Clavell said.

A Northern Territory Keno spokesman said they were excited for the winner.

“It’s been another fantastic week, and we’re thrilled to see the winner is one of our own local players,” the spokesman said.

“A huge congratulations to our winner — we are proud to be a part of your story.”

Social media users were quick to share their well wishes with the winner on the Noonamah Taverns' Facebook.

“Congratulations to the WINNER,” one user said.

Another jokingly asked if the winner “need(ed) a wife”?

But above all, a sea of “congratulations” occupied most of the comment section.

Just three months back, another lucky player snagged $1.4 million at the Berry Springs Tavern on a $20 ticket.

Monday’s win marks the second million dollar win in Keno in three months for the NT.
