STILL showing the signs of the belting he received, allegedly at the hands of a 16-year-old teenager, 92-year-old Harvey Wade said he was just happy to be back among his Freds Pass Markets family yesterday.
The Tumbling Waters resident suffered substantial injuries when he was allegedly set upon by the boy in the market carpark last Saturday.

Despite that Harvey said he was not going to let the incident keep him from doing what he loves most on the weekends — lending support to his daughter Karen McEwin, who sells baby chickens at the markets.
“The markets are like one big family,” Harvey said.
“I have hundreds of friends I didn’t know I had. Everyone is coming over and asking how I am. A nice gentleman gave me a lovely box of chocolates … I’m getting spoiled.”
While he wasn’t up and about too much yesterday at the markets which were awash with cooling wet season rains, Harvey said he enjoyed being able to sit in his chair and say hello to people.
“I’m still feeling a little sore, I feels like I was used as a punching bag … I had my seat belt on and couldn’t move so I had to sit there and take the beating,” he said.
“I’m coming good though. I get the stitches in the side of my head out next week.
“But the people are all telling me they are glad to see me and that makes me feel good.
“I know most of the people by sight. They have shown a lot of concern for me and how I am recovering.
