ABOUT 230 reports of improper conduct have been made to the NT ICAC, according to Commissioner Ken Flemming.
During Budget Estimates yesterday the Commissioner revealed that ICAC had already received 228 reports of allegations of improper conduct with 3 per cent of the reports involving Members of the Legislative Assembly.

“As at May 13, 23 per cent of reports came from NT Government agencies or employees,” he said.
“We expect that over time agencies will account for a higher proportion of reports given that it is mandatory for NT Government agencies and employees to report improper conduct.”

The Commissioner said 8 per cent of reports related to a conflict of interest.
“I am concerned that there is a widespread misunderstanding of conflict of interest across the public sector,” he said.
“All too often we see people debilitated by what they describe as a ‘potential’ conflict of interest.”
