One person is feared badly injured after a vehicle rolled at Horseshoe Lagoon in the Burdekin on Tuesday.

Queensland Police Service confirmed that the driver remained trapped in the vehicle after it rolled on the Upper Haughton Rd at 10.40am.

Three Queensland Ambulance Service units, including one from Giru and a second specialist crew from Townsville, were at the scene.

A QAS spokeswoman said the victim, a man, had suffered multiple injuries to his legs and arms.

Initial reports from the scene indicated that the victim was trapped upside-down in a seatbelt.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency crew was also en route to assist with freeing the person.

QAS said one stable patient with “significant head, leg and back injuries” was taken to Townsville University Hospital following the single-vehicle crash.
