Grovedale batter Anthony Quarrell found safe and well after being reported missing to local police

A beloved Geelong local cricketer who was reported missing to local police has been found safe and well, a family member has revealed.

A beloved Grovedale cricketer who had been reported missing to local police has been found safe and well.

The family of Anthony Quarrell had reported his disappearance to Bellarine Police after having no contact with the 30-year-old for several days.

However, his former cricket club Newcomb & District and his sister Stacey informed this publication Quarrell had been found.

There were growing concerns for the whereabouts and safety of beloved Grovedale first grade cricketer Anthony Quarrell.

Quarrell, who played GCA1 first grade on Saturday for the Tigers against Highton, had not had any communication with his “concerned” family for several days.

Quarrell, who recently celebrated his 30th birthday on January 6 with the Tigers at a club function, is a popular member of Grovedale and seen as one of its “favourite sons”, according to a recent club post on Facebook.

In a post, Grovedale Cricket Club said it was relieved to hear Quarrell had been found.

“We cannot thank our family, friends, and community for sharing Anthony’s picture and all the information that came in to help find him,” the club said.

“It is appreciated beyond words.”
