Kilometres of heavy delays have clogged the Gold Coast M1 as emergency services respond to a nasty crash which has brought peak-hour traffic to a crawl.
Emergency services were called to the single-vehicle traffic accident about 8am on Thursday in the southbound lanes near the Gooding Drive off-ramp (exit 77).
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said paramedics assessed one person at the scene. The female patient, aged in her 50s, was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
It’s believed the crash may have been the result of a medical episode.
More than 8km of heavy traffic clogged the Pacific Motorway from Pappas Way near Nerang (exit 72).
Emergency services had cleared the crash scene by about 9am - delays were beginning to ease.
