A Gold Coast mother faces more than 70 fraud offences, accused of swindling a major retailer out of a staggering amount of phones, laptops and electronic devices.

Sarah Jane Windeatt faced Southport Magistrates Court on Monday on 37 counts of dishonestly obtain property and 34 counts of attempt to dishonestly obtain property.

Police alleged the 35-year-old Labrador woman swindled electronics giant JB Hi-Fi out of 59 mobile phones, 12 laptops, two projectors as well as a number of other products including a gaming console and bluetooth sunglasses. The items were allegedly dishonestly obtained during multiple transactions between June 2022 and January 2023.

Police further alleged Windeatt attempted to dishonestly obtain multiple finance products with Latitude.

The court was told the value of the alleged offending is estimated at almost $200,000.

During an application for bail duty lawyer Shannon Fletcher, of Legal Aid Queensland, told the court Windeatt had a sick child at home to care for.

Ms Fletcher also raised concern about the strength of the prosecution's evidence and said it wasn’t sufficient for her client to remain in custody.

Windeatt was released on strict bail conditions including that she report to Southport police station twice a week.

The court was told she intends to contest the charges.
