Pentagon Grand customer’s wife threatens to picket brothel over husband’s $6000 bill

A furious wife is threatening to picket a Gold Coast brothel over a bill run up by her husband in an X-rated session which only ended when sex workers were ‘too tired’ to continue. Here’s what he paid for.

Busting sex worker stereotypes

An angry wife is threatening to picket outside a Gold Coast brothel after her husband spent $6000 on a seven-hour X-rated binge with two sex workers, including service upgrades for fetishes and fantasies.

Pentagon Grand manager Suzanne Pfeifer said the wife showed up at the Molendinar brothel, with husband in tow, demanding an explanation for the charges.

Ms Pfeifer said the woman claimed her husband was “drunk and on drugs” and had no recollection of visiting the premises.

However, she said the man appeared sober and coherent in camera footage, while receipts showed he had successfully negotiated a lower price for the services of the sex workers. She said staff regularly removed clients who were intoxicated or impaired.

Despite breaking down the costings for the seven-hour sex spree, Ms Pfeifer said the woman refused to accept the legitimacy of the service price and threatened to picket the premises with friends.

“We’ve told her she’s welcome to peacefully protest on public property, but if we have any concerns for safety we would have to call the police,” said Ms Pfeifer.

“My concern is that male clients walking in would not appreciate this and verbal altercations can quickly escalate.

“We have advised her to call the police if she believes her husband has been ‘ripped off’, because she won’t listen to us.”

Ms Pfeifer said it was difficult to believe that someone allegedly drunk would continue to pay for a service for so many hours. In fact, she said the man wanted to stay longer but the sex workers were “too tired”.

She said the man paid cash for the first hour, explaining he did not want his wife to know, and then paid for the next hour via a bank transfer.

“He tried to put the next transfer through but it said ‘pending’ and so the girls would not continue until it was completed. He didn’t want to wait so he decided to use his credit card, which he had been trying to avoid,” said Ms Pfeifer.

“Sometimes clients don’t like to come down to the desk to swipe their card, so they give us their PIN number to process. We encourage them to put on a towel and come down themselves, but they often prefer the girl to come down with their card. We then call them for the PIN number and send a receipt back, which we check with them. That’s what he did.

“He’s gone to great lengths to keep paying, plus he negotiated a discount for some of the fetishes and fantasies he ordered. Our girls are good negotiators, you would have to be very coherent to cut a deal.

“The only reason it ended when it did is because the girls were too tired and wanted to finish.”

Ms Pfeifer said, ultimately, the issue was between the man and his wife, not the brothel.

She said whether the woman was upset about her husband’s actions or simply his spending, it was none of their business.

“This is not our problem. We are a legal business and this was a legitimate service with a legitimate charge,” she said. “He knew what he was doing … he just got caught.

“If the woman is mad about the $6000, take it up with the husband – not us.

“It’s not fair that we’re the ones getting harassed … go bother him about it. It’s like blaming the casino for your husband gambling … we don’t control his actions.”

Ms Pfeifer said the sizeable sum was not typical of a customer’s spend.

“Not everyone spends the big dollars,” she said.

“Most people get a half-hour standard service with no extra services.

“It’s entirely up to the client.”
