You’ll find more than just a dash of festive spirit at a new Southport Christmas-themed boutique.

In fact, it boasts more than 20,000 items ranging from decorations, to candles, lights and other bric-a-bric.

After 15 years operating on the NSW Central Coast, owner Karin Seal has brought her store - A Dash of Christmas - to the Gold Coast.

Being closer to family was the motivating factor behind the move.

Family also inspired Ms Seal’s passion for all things Christmas.

“I was raised by my grandparents and they made Christmas so magical for us,” she said.

“I started with making and selling a few Christmas wreaths at a market and it developed over the years.”

Ms Seal has continued to create and sell her own high-end decorations, but also sources items made by other designers.

Since opening her store last week, she has been busy filling orders for Christmas in July celebrations.

“A lot of customers have been looking for Christmas in July bonbons and table decorations,” Ms Seal said.

“I do think the Gold Coast needed a Christmas store like this.”
