Mount Isa Police charge woman with Outback child-sex crimes

A Gold Coast woman has been charged with more than a dozen child-sex crimes allegedly committed in a remote Outback town in north-west Queensland.

A Gold Coast woman has been charged with more than a dozen child-sex crimes allegedly committed in a remote Outback town in north-west Queensland.

Queensland Police Service said on Monday that detectives from the Mount Isa Child Protection and Investigation Unit had charged a 25-year-old woman with multiple child-sex offences in a rural town in the Shire of Boulia.

QPS, in a statement, said the charges were four counts of unlawful carnal knowledge, 10 counts of indecent treatment of a child and one count of grooming child aged under 16 years.

The statement did not say how many children the charges allegedly involved.

A search warrant was executed at the woman’s Gold Coast address on September 28.

It will be alleged the offences occurred between November 2021 and September 2022.

The woman is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on Monday, October 9.
