A teenage boy has suffered ‘life-threatening’ head injuries after an accident involving an e-scooter on a suburban Gold Coast road.

A teenage boy is fighting for life with serious head injuries after an e-scooter crashed in Helensvale on the Gold Coast.
Emergency services were called to the corner of Latrobe Ave and Bowen Court after the scooter crashed at 9.15am.
A woman in her twenties, who was on the scooter with the boy, was left with injuries to her face after the incident. No other vehicles are believed to have been involved.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson said paramedics including the High Acuity Response Unit responded to the scene.
“One male patient in his teens with life-threatening head injuries and one stable female patient in her 20s with facial injuries have been transported to Gold Coast University Hospital,” the spokesperson said.
The police Forensic Crash Unit are investigating the incident.
