A co-owner of the Gold Coast Titans is vowing full confidence in under-pressure head coach Des Hasler saying he’s “a winner” and will still be in the role in 2026.
Rumours abound about the future of the three-time premiership winning Hasler after the Titans male side’s slumping results this season which have them at the bottom of the ladder.
It has been revealed his contract includes a clause which can see him axed before his term expires at the end of next year if the side doesn’t make the top eight this season.
But on Wednesday night at the the Titans NRLW side launch, club co-owner Bec Frizelle posed up with Hasler for photos and said: “Des is a winner. Our confidence doesn’t waiver in Des and Des will be with us for 2026 as his contract states.”
What have you made of all the support players have expressed in him? “I would agree with that. I’ve heard tonight one of the refs was sacked after the Storm game for that poor call that happened last week.
“There’s been a lot of those close games. This is a high-performance sport, it’s a high-pressure sport - we back our coach.”
Asked if that was a united view shared by the Titans top brass, she said: We are a united club and united board. We support people, back people and we support our head coach. Des is our coach moving forward. He is safe.”
