Foo Fighters ready to rock Brisbane: Suncorp Stadium setlist

Superfans have been lining up for Foo Fighters’ Brisbane concert since the wee hours, as the band’s likely setlist can be revealed.

Foo Fighters are gearing up to set the stage alight at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium on Tuesday night as their expected set list is revealed.

In the last stop on their Australia tour – their first since the death of drummer Taylor Hawkins – the rock superstars have reportedly already jetted into the River City and are set to perform in front of 50,000 people when the three-hour show kicks off at 7.30pm.

This is the band’s expected set list based on the band’s shows in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney earlier this month.

More than 100 hardcore Fooeys fans braved Brisbane’s scorching heat to converge on Suncorp Stadium in the early hours of Tuesday morning to claim the best spots in the moshpit for the eagerly awaited concert.

Among the early birds was the Caplin family from Ipswich, who had been queuing since 5am.

The family even booked a hotel across from the venue.

This concert was particularly special for father Damian Caplin, as not only his fourth time seeing the band live, but also the first concert ever for his son Joshua.

“This is my very first Foo Fighters concert – I’ve been a fan since 2006, when I was born,” Joshua said excitedly.

Most of these early risers are members of the Aussie Foo Crew, a fan club with more than 3500 loyal followers on Facebook.

Club founder Debbie Sheppard, of Richmond, NSW, was one of those enduring the heat.

Reflecting on the group’s inception, she said, “When I moved over to Australia and noticed that there wasn’t an Aussie group, so I decided to start one. It’s been running for 12 years now, and it’s grown to 3600 members.”

Debbie, who has followed the band across Australia, missing only one show, added, “The only one I haven’t gone to this year was Perth, because I just couldn’t get the time off work.”

But the story of resilience and passion doesn’t end with Debbie.

One of the band’s most devoted fans, Frances Lyons of Melbourne, was celebrating her 19th Foo Fighters concert, and showcasing her array of merchandise as well as the ultimate proof of her fandom: a collection of Foo Fighters tattoos, including a tracing of frontman Dave Grohl’s autograph after meeting him.

“I met him, a few years ago now... he was fantastic, he gave me a hug, signed my arm which I then got tattooed, and he was just the nicest guy,” she recalled.

Some of the fans, who endured a brutal 42C heatwave at the band’s Sydney concert, were grateful for the facilities provided by Suncorp Stadium, including shade tents and phone charging stations.
