Emergency services have revealed the cause of a fire in a luxury Main Beach apartment on Wednesday afternoon.

A Queensland Fire Department (QFD) spokeswoman said the fire was reported just before 1pm at White Main Beach on Woodroffe Ave, Main Beach.

It was believed to have been caused by equipment on the back of a vehicle in the basement carpark.

A QFD spokesman said there was ‘no active fire’ when crews arrived and the car was moved from the basement to ground level.
