A highly-anticipated Italian restaurant featuring authentic wood-fired pizzas and Wagyu beef bolognese is set to open in the Gold Coast’s newest hotel.

Amore Ristorante will open inside the new TRYP by Wyndham Southport, Gold Coast on November 21.

The restaurant opening will mark a “significant milestone” in Azzura Investment Limited’s $3.8 billion Imperial Square development.

The Wyndham hotel is the first of four towers for the project.

The hotel’s general manager Daniel Sprange said he was “truly excited” to be opening the new Italian restaurant.

“We’ve created a place where locals and visitors can relax, enjoy delicious food, and experience world-class hospitality,” he said.

Amore Ristorante executive chef Robert McWhinnie – who has been in the culinary industry for more than 20 years – said the new restaurant was a “dream come true”

Mr McWhinnie said the menu will feature house-made pastas, including the Wagyu beef bolognese, fresh crab with Ballina pipis, wood-fired pizzas, chocolate cannoli and tiramisu.

“I expect our guests to really love the entire dining experience, but if I had to pick, the pizza will certainly be a standout,” he said.

Mr Sprange said the vision for Amore Ristorante was the brainchild of Azzura Investments CEO Robert Badalotti.

“He saw an opportunity to create a space where locals and visitors could experience a genuine taste of Italy, while also adding a modern twist and an elevated sense of style to the dining,” Mr Sprange said.

“Robert’s inspiration for Amore Ristorante came from a deep love for Italian food and culture.”

The new restaurant will accommodate up to 120 guests with both indoor and outdoor seating and a bar area. The mega project will comprise of four stages with stage one TRYP by Wyndham Southport opening on December 4 with 225 luxury one, two and three bedroom apartments.

Stage two will feature a 40 level tower. Stage three will feature one of the tallest towers in the world with 108 levels and stage four will complete the project with a 68-level tower.

Mr Badalotti said the opening was “just the beginning” for the Imperial Square project.

“Southport is undergoing an exciting transformation, with new developments, and an influx of people looking for dining, leisure and entertainment options,” he said.

“TRYP by Wyndham Southport Gold Coast is situated in the heart of it all, and Amore Ristorante is the perfect complement to the area’s growing appeal.

“We’re excited to be part of this evolution and to offer something truly special to the Gold Coast.”
