A man has been charged with drug driving after he crashed into a pole at a busy Gold Coast intersection.
A Gold Coast police spokeswoman said they received a call from a member of the public after they allegedly watched a 2013 Mercedes-Benz crash into a pole at the intersection of Arthur and Baddidge streets in Biggera Waters around 10.50pm on Thursday.
The report said the driver – a 29-year-old Palm Beach man – was driving slowly before he mounted a medium strip and crashed.
The man was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
Police have since charged the man with driving under the influence of a drug and he is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on September 10.
