A man has been banned from Topgolf after he was tackled by security during a daring stunt at the Gold Coast golfing attraction.
The Topgolf driving range was brought to a stop on Saturday night around 6.30pm after a 25-year-old from Cairns, ran on to the pitch calling for people to try and hit him.
A TikTok video with close to 600,000 views was posted by @efstudda and showed the Topgolf trespasser standing with his arms open while golfers yelled “Hit him! Hit him, mate – hit him”.
The 25-year-old was then chased by security across the driving range before several staff members became involved.
The man was then tackled, receiving a 12-month suspension and a fine.
A Topgolf spokesman said: “On Saturday night, a member of the public trespassed onto the outfield at Topgolf”.
“Topgolf’s on-site security and operations team swiftly removed the trespasser from the outfield with the police also responding.
“For the safety of our guests and team members, we strongly deter and discourage this behaviour with strict penalties handed down to the culprits”.
