Disposals

North Shore’s Nick Dixon continues his strong form at the top of the league, getting his hands on the football more than anyone else.

The Seagulls’ co-coach has racked up 448 disposals so far this season at an average of 37.3 per game, and has recorded five games with more than 40 disposals.

He has collected the ball 30 times or more in 11 of his 12 games, with the only game not reaching the mark was in round 3, when he had 29.

Giants midfielder Baxter Mensch has 397 touches for the season (33.1 average) after recording 31 disposals against Leopold, while Dragon Lachie Patten is right on his tail after a 36-disposal game in round 12 brought him to 394 for the year (32.8 average).

Lions captain Marcus Thompson (371 disposals) is trailing the top three, while Giant Tanner Lovell (335) has jumped into the top five after averaging 33 touches per game in the past three weeks.

Marks

North Shore’s Jack Leonard has taken over the lead for total marks in the competition after recording 23 marks in the past two rounds.

The Seagull defender now has recorded 97 for the season (8.1 average), ahead of Colac’s Jarryn McCormack and Lachlan Simpkin, who both have 94 (7.8 average) for the Tigers.

South Barwon’s Jack Driver has 90 marks for the season (7.5 average), while Geelong West’s Jake Wood has taken 78 (7.1 average).

Hit Outs

Newtown & Chilwell ruck Cam Wilkinson extended his lead over South Barwon’s Luke Davis in round 12 after recording 45 hit outs.

Wilkinson has recorded 358 hit outs this season, while Davis, who had 34 against Grovedale, is in second place with 334 across the year.

Geelong West’s Tylar Watts recorded the most for the round of football with 62 hit outs, meaning he has now recorded 302 hit outs for third place this season.

North Shore’s Kobe Annand has 248 for the year so far, while Dragon Luke Goetz has missed three games so far this season but still has 223 taps to his name.

Tackles

Leopold captain Marcus Thompson set his season high in tackles against Geelong West, laying 16 to creep his advantage out to 35.

Despite missing two games after suffering a jaw injury in the opening minute of round 10’s clash against Newtown & Chilwell, St Mary’s star Harry Benson is still second in total tackles with 81.

Eagle Blake Sutterby laid nine tackles to improve to 79 for the season, while St Albans midfielder Jacob Russell has recorded 75 for the year.

Leopold’s Rob Maibaum has 74 recorded tackles, while Bell Park’s Hamish Lucas has 72.

Goals

Leopold star Mitch Patten still sits at the top of the goal kicking, but a Saints star has returned for a late run at the crown.

Patten leads the competition with 40 goals, with the star forward kicking two majors against Geelong West, but St Mary’s forward Pat Dowling kicked four goals and is on 35 for the year.

In his return from a three-week injury, Dowling kicked 0.6 for his first goalless game this season, and apart from that inaccurate blip the star forward has kicked at least three goals in each game.

South Barwon forward Adam Boseley has 33 goals for the season, but only kicked 0.2 against Grovedale, while Colac’s Adam Garner has not played the past two rounds and remains on 31.

Garner was jumped by Grovedale’s Mitch Chafer, who kicked five goals against South Barwon and moved to 32 for the season.

Lara’s Mitch Day has kicked at least one goal in every game this season on his way to 28 for the year.

Only Day and Patten have kicked a goal in every game they have played after Dowling failed to hit the scoreboard, while Patten is the only player in the competition to have slotted a major in every round this season.
