A 18-year-old driver will face court after allegedly driving at 171km/h in a 100km/h zone just three months after getting his licence.

A 18-year-old will face court after allegedly being sprung driving at 171km/h in a 100km/h zone, just three months after getting his licence.
A Victoria Police spokesman said members from Geelong Highway Patrol pulled the driver over at around 9.49pm on Sunday while conducting speed checks on Princes Freeway in Lara.
The spokesman said they intercepted the red Renault sedan after it was allegedly detected travelling north at high speed.
The vehicle was impounded for 30 days and the driver was charged on summonswith various traffic offences, to face court at a later date.
