Woman dead after horror smash in Paraparap, northwest of Torquay
Police have been told the car left the road and crashed into a tree near the intersection of two rural roads.

A woman has died after her car smashed into a tree when it came off a rural Surf Coast road.
Emergency services attended the scene of a crash on Forest Rd in Paraparap, north west of Torquay, about 3.15pm on Wednesday.
Police have been told the car left the road and crashed into a tree near the intersection with Larcombes Rd.
A Victoria Police spokesman said that while emergency vehicles were quickly on the scene, they “could not revive the female driver.”
“Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal crash which occurred in Paraparap this afternoon,” he said.
“The investigation into the crash is ongoing.”
An Ambulance Victoria spokesman confirmed paramedics were called to the scene.
Forest Rd, like many in the area, is lined with eucalyptus trees on each side.
It remained shut on Wednesday evening.
Seven emergency vehicles were on scene as of 4pm, but that number had dwindled to just three an hour later.
