Boutique accommodation suited for “fun seeks and sun seekers” will soon be welcoming guests after a retro-inspired renovation.

Sunnymead Hotel, previously Lightkeepers Inn Motel, is located on the Great Ocean Road and is set to welcome its first guests this summer.

The 20 guest suites have been designed for the modern traveller, and a warm colour palette is aimed at bringing an “always sunny” vibe.

Owner Damien Cerantonio said the renovation had a range of clientele in mind.

“The design of the rooms, along with the day spa and restaurant, really suits couples and groups of friends travelling together,” Mr Cerantonio said.

“We feel the renovation of the property provides a great addition to the existing culture of Aireys Inlet.”

Each room is styled with a curated local mini bar, luxury local bathroom products from The Herbalist Bells Beach, and a custom yellow Nood Co basin in the ensuite bathrooms.

The wider property has been designed for shared experiences, featuring an outdoor pool, fire pit, modern fusion restaurant, and day spa.

The outdoor area is aimed for entertaining, with a sparkling magnesium pool and pool bar, named “Sunnies”.

The space can be booked for private functions or corporate groups.

The hotel will be home to Indie Spa and Santara Restaurant, which will both open to guests and the general public in early 2023.

With the aim of having a fun and nostalgic theme, Sunnymead will also have a sunshine yellow Volkswagen Kombi.

“Daisy” will be used to provide private tours for corporate groups, bridal parties, travelling friends and international visitors.

Aireys Inlet’s sole hotel-style accommodation is located directly opposite the Aireys Pub, and is within walking distance of foodie hot spots including A La Grecque, Great Ocean Road Gin Kitchen and the new French deli and eatery, Le Comptoir.

Sunnymead will be accepting bookings from December 16.
