A tradie who lost his licence for four years after leaving a man for dead allegedly hopped in his car and drove away from a daylight brawl in Geelong’s CBD.

Brandon Juresko had his driver’s licence taken away last year after driving off when North Geelong man Benjamin Norsworthy stepped out of his car and fatally hit his head in December 2021.

Juresko pleaded guilty in the County Court of Victoria last year to charges of failing to render assistance, unlicensed driving, entering an intersection against a red light and affray.

Along with a nine-month community corrections order, Juresko lost his driver’s licence for four years.

However, it is alleged Juresko got into a black Nissan Navarra ute and drove from the scene of a brawl on Ryrie St on July 23 despite the ban.

The fight erupted outside a convenience store just before 2.30pm.

This masthead was told by a witness a man – identified as Juresko – allegedly became violent after staff at the store asked another customer for identification.

It was alleged at the time Juresko began shouting and swearing, before being asked to leave.

Juresko allegedly challenged the shop owner to “step outside” and a brawl broke out, with the pair exchanging blows.

The shop owner was left bloodied, and Juresko lost his shirt.

Following the fight, Juresko was photographed allegedly getting in his car and driving away.

Victoria Police said the altercation appeared to be between two parties known to each other.

A Victoria Police spokeswoman said police couldn’t comment on the matter as it had not been formally reported.

It’s understood Geelong police are reviewing the footage and wish to speak to those involved.

No charges have been laid in relation to the brawl.

The Geelong Advertiser attempted to contact Juresko for comment but received no response.

Juresko has also put his business, Bellarine Fencing & Gates, on hold until August 25, citing “family and personal commitments”.

The company’s website is currently unavailable.

In March Juresko pleaded guilty to offences including drink and drug driving, unlicensed driving and contravening a corrections order, stemming from two incidents.

In November, he was pulled over by police with a blood alcohol reading of 0.128 and MDMA in his system.

Juresko again drove in December – he was spotted driving erratically on Portarlington Rd and again on Swanston St, before he was stopped by police on Western Beach Rd.

Ice was found in his system on that occasion.
