A Geelong mother has told of her “gut wrenching” fears for her missing daughter, who has not been seen by her family in almost a week.
Gaylyn Ngaruhe has issued an anxious plea for information into the whereabouts of her daughter, Taliah, after she disappeared from their Norlane home on April 14.
She was last seen “sitting on the couch” before leaving the property.
Victoria Police issued a statewide plea for assistance after Ms Ngaruhe reported her missing on Wednesday.
“It is really gut wrenching and nerve racking, I don’t know if she is safe, or if she is alive,” Ms Ngaruhe said.
“We are just hoping one of her many friends might pass on the message to her and for her to give me a call.
“I have been hoping and praying all day and all night.”
It’s believed the “happy and healthy” North Geelong student could be with an unknown male in Melbourne, although no contact has been made with any family member for six days.
“It’s not giving us any peace of mind and we can’t get any real information,” she said.
“There is a lot of false information that is being put on social media.
“We think she could be with a friend, but we have no idea who this friend is.
“I am just waiting by the phone, I have not left it.”
A Victoria police spokeswoman said Taliah was last seen at 10am on April 14 in Norlane.
It is unknown what she was wearing at the time, but it is believed she took very few possessions with her.
“Police are concerned for her welfare due to her age and length of time since contact with her family or friends,” a police spokeswoman said.
Ms Ngaruhe urged anyone knew her daughter’s whereabouts to contact police immediately.
“We are just not getting anywhere. It is just so worrying,” she said.
“If you see this, just ring mum but we have still heard nothing.”
