12-year-old charged after alleged attempted Grovedale home invasion
Three people have been charged, including a 12-year-old boy, after an alleged attempted home invasion and stabbing in Grovedale.

Police have charged two men and a 12-year-old boy following an alleged attempted home invasion and stabbing in Grovedale on Friday.
A Victoria Police spokeswoman said it was alleged the trio attended a property on Church St and attempted to gain entry to the premises about 11.30pm on January 3.
“The male victim and occupant of the property allegedly confronted the trio and a scuffle ensued,” she said.
“Officers have been told the victim was allegedly physically assaulted and a male offender was stabbed.
“The offenders fled the scene on foot, however officers were quickly on scene and arrested all three.”
The police spokeswoman confirmed a 12-year-old boy had since been charged with attempted home invasion and recklessly cause injury.
She said he was bailed to a children’s court at a later date.
The spokeswoman said a 25-year-old Ararat man and a 20-year-old Belmont man had also been charged with attempted home invasion and recklessly cause injury.
She said the Ararat man was bailed to the Geelong Magistrates’ Court on January 10, while the Belmont man was remanded to appear at the Geelong Magistrates’ Court on January 6.
