Man dies, truck driver hospitalised after Bellarine Hwy collision

A man has been identified as the victim of a fatal crash in Wallington on Wednesday morning.
A 77-year-old Belmont man died at the scene after a silver van and a truck collided on the Bellarine Hwy about 10.30am.
Victoria Police spokeswoman Kathryn Muffett said the male truck driver was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
He was released from hospital on Wednesday night and is being interviewed by police.
The Bellarine Hwy reopened on Thursday morning with speed restrictions in place following the crash.
The speed limit on a section of the road has been temporarily dropped to 60km/h, according to VicRoads.
The crash caused significant delays for motorists, with traffic banked up along the Bellarine Hwy and Portarlington Rd until after 6pm on Wednesday evening.
Police are investigating the collision.
