Police are searching for a man who allegedly stole $2000 worth of sunglasses from a store in Westfield on Wednesday afternoon.
Senior Sergeant Aaron Riches from Geelong police said the alleged theft occurred about 1.40pm.
“The man was with a female who was arrested at the scene but who refuses to assist police,” he said.
Police have released a photo of a man they believe will help with their enquiries.
The man is seen on CCTV leaving Westfield via the Malop St exit wearing a dark grey top, black shirt, black sneakers and a silver chain with tattoos on his arm.
Hours later, in a separate incident, a 28-year-old Whittington man was arrested after a burglary in Geelong West.
Sergeant Riches said the man allegedly stole a wheelbarrow from a home in Candover St before heading to Hope St and loading it up with stolen goods about 7.20pm.
Officers attended the scene within minutes and found the man pushing the wheelbarrow up Pakington St.
He was arrested and has been charged with burglary, theft, handling stolen goods, possessing a controlled weapon.
He was bailed to front Geelong Magistrates Court on April 30.
